VITTORIO CAPOTORTO
Staged more than 100 plays
over the course of forty years. He was ispired by the celebrated
Italian Maestro Eduardo De Filippo,
with whom he worked for a number of years as an assistant
and actor.
His theatrical experience
includes the founding and directing of theater companies in
Italy, Sudan and Argentina. His repertoire has ranged from
Macchiavelli to modern playwrights
such a Jarry, Nicolaj and Dario Fo.
1998-2001 He created the “Italian
Theater Practicum” course which he thaught at
Columbia University and Brooklyn College.
Staged 14 production in New
York City, including English version of Pirandello’s
“The Jar”, Eduarde
De Filippo’s “Long Lagged
Lies", and Paolo Tartamella’s ”The
Busboy”. He was the founder and the artistic
director of the International Festival “Orlando
Innamorato” held in Italy in 2001. In July 2006
directed "Orlando in Love”
in Central Park New York. |
